1- FINALITA’ E NATURA
DELL’ASSOCIAZIONE
Art. 1
All’interno della Famiglia
Verniana, che raccoglie nel nome di Madre Antonia Verna, tutti coloro che ad
essa in qualsiasi modo si ispirano (Suore di Carità dell’Immacolata
Concezione d’Ivrea, Missionarie di Carità, gruppi laicali, singoli fedeli),
viene costituita con il nome di ASSOCIAZIONE LAICI VERNIANI, un’associazione privata di
fedeli, che vogliono realizzare la loro vocazione cristiana nella
partecipazione al carisma dell’Istituto delle Suore di Carità
dell’Immacolata Concezione d’Ivrea, secondo la loro condizione laicale, e in
comunione con le Suore dello stesso Istituto.
I membri, in modo particolare,
si propongono, sul modello di Madre Antonia Maria, di vivere la spiritualità
del Mistero dell’Immacolata Concezione, nella gratitudine a Dio per il dono
della vocazione cristiana, e di dare il proprio contributo all’impegno
apostolico delle Suore nel servizio di carità e nell’evangelizzazione.
Art. 2
La Spiritualità mariana impegna
i membri a coltivare una particolare devozione a Maria Immacolata,
celebrando con particolare solennità la sua festa, e a vivere coerentemente
la propria vita cristiana, secondo lo stato di ciascuno, nella fedeltà ai
propri doveri religiosi, nella partecipazione alla Santa Messa e nella
pratica dei sacramenti.
Tale spiritualità trae
ispirazione particolarmente dagli articoli 2 e 3 della Regola di Vita delle
Suore di Carità dell’Immacolata Concezione d’Ivrea.
Art. 2: “Nell’Immacolata
Concezione di Maria noi vediamo il mistero dell’assoluta gratuità di Dio che
ama e che salva, e della totale dedizione della creatura che si offre senza
riserve. Piena di grazia per libero e gratuito dono, Maria appartenne a Dio
in modo esclusivo e assoluto perché, Madre del Verbo fatto uomo e unita in
tutto il suo essere a Cristo salvatore, cooperasse alla salvezza
dell’umanità”.
Art. 3: “In lei troviamo
l’immagine perfetta della nostra consacrazione e della santità a cui siamo
chiamate, la forza ispiratrice dell’azione apostolica. Contemplando il suo
mistero attingiamo lo spirito genuino dell’istituto; impariamo ad essere
comunità che non si appartiene, tutte e solo per Dio e per gli altri. Come
Maria e in Maria, facciamo nostra la carità salvatrice di Cristo in una
disposizione di apertura verso la necessità dei Fratelli”.
Art. 3
L’impegno apostolico di carità
si attuerà nell ‘attenzione massime ai poveri e ai bisognosi” che si
incontrano nel proprio cammino e nel prestare, entro le proprie possibilità,
il proprio tempo ed il proprio aiuto nel servizio di carità. L’impegno
apostolico nella evangelizzazione e nella catechesi richiede soprattutto che
si parta da Cristo, come il Santo Padre ha sottolineato nella Lettera
Apostolica Novo Millennio Ineunte, e si tenda ad “una misura alta
della vita cristiana ordinaria”, (NMI 31); che si presti attenzione alla
propria formazione spirituale integrale e si abbia la disponibilità a fare
opera di evangelizzazione e di catechesi. In tal modo i laici non solo
s’impegnano a realizzare nella loro vita la vocazione alla santità, ricevuta
in germe nel Battesimo, ma sono anche di sostegno per gli altri fratelli
cristiani.
II - GOVERNO DELL’
ASSOCIAZIONE
Art. 4
L’Associazione Laici Verniani, ha sede in Roma, via della Renella 85, presso la Curia
Generalizia delle Suore di carità dell'Immacolata Concezione d'Ivreae, nel suo governo,
si articola in tre livelli:
Locale, Regionale, Generale.
4.1
A livello Locale esistono gruppi
costituiti, debitamente riconosciuti, con un proprio responsabile eletto dai
membri degli stessi gruppi, ogni tre anni.
4.2
A livello Regionale esiste un
responsabile, eletto ogni tre anni, dai responsabili locali del suo ambito,
coadiuvato da due consiglieri, anch’essi eletti dai responsabili locali.
L’ambito del livello regionale è determinato dal Presidente
dell’associazione con il consenso del suo Consiglio.
4.3
I Presidenti Regionali e Locali,
in caso di assenza, incaricheranno una persona, la quale farà le loro veci.
4.4
A livello Generale esiste
l’assemblea generale rappresentativa di tutta l’associazione, costituita dai
responsabili locali e regionali, dal Presidente e dal suo Consiglio. Essa ha
luogo ogni quattro anni ed ha il compito principalmente di:
. Eleggere il Presidente Generale e quattro Consiglieri, dei
quali il primo è il Vice-Presidente.
. Verificare la vita dell’associazione.
. Elaborare il programma del
quadriennio.
Art. 5
Un gruppo si considera
debitamente costituito quando viene riconosciuto come tale dal Presidente
dell’Associazione con il consenso del suo Consiglio. Nel procedere al
riconoscimento si terranno presenti i seguenti criteri:
. Gli associati non siano in numero inferiore a 10.
. I membri, per quanto possibile, non siano geograficamente
dispersi.
. Siano raggruppati in modo che, per quanto possibile,
possano adempiere insieme gli obblighi statutari.
. Abbiano come riferimento una comunità religiosa delle Suore
di Carità dell’Immacolata Concezione d’Ivrea.
Art. 6
Il responsabile locale ha una
funzione di collegamento sia all’interno (tra il gruppo e i responsabili
regionali e generale), sia all’esterno. E’ il garante dell’osservanza dello
statuto.
E’ il promotore della vita del
gruppo, sia per la spiritualità e l’apostolato, che per lo sviluppo dell’
Associazione stessa.
Art. 7
I compiti del responsabile
regionale sono analoghi a quelli del responsabile locale, ma adattati al suo
livello.
Nell’esercizio di questi compiti
si serve dell’aiuto del suo Consiglio.
In particolare spetta a lui, con
il consenso del suo Consiglio, l’accettazione delle domande di ammissione
(da farsi per iscritto) dei membri e la trattazione delle questioni più
rilevanti del Suo ambito. ‘
Art. 8
Compiti del Presidente e del suo
Consiglio
8.1
Il Presidente generale ha la
responsabilità secondo il presente statuto, della via e dello sviluppo
dell’intera associazione.
A tal fine vigila
sull’osservanza dello statuto stesso.
Nell’esercizio di questi suoi
compiti è coadiuvato dal suo Consiglio.
8.2
In modo particolare il
Presidente ha il dovere di tenersi in collegamento con la Superiora Generale
delle Suore di Carità dell’Immacolata Concezione d’Ivrea, segnatamente per
quanto riguarda la fedeltà al Carisma, alla spiritualità, all’apostolato e
alla formazione.
8.3
Spetta al Presidente generale e
al suo Consiglio verificare le ammissioni dei nuovi membri, eventualmente
dimettere dalla stessa Associazione e trattare le questioni più importanti
di essa.
III - AMMISSIONE, DIMISSIONE,
RINUNCIA .
Art. 9
Per essere ammessi
all’associazione si esige che candidati (uomini e donne; sposati o
celibi/nubili) siano maggiorenni, siano cattolici praticanti e, dopo
adeguata formazione, si impegnino a realizzare lo scopo dell’associazione ed
ad osservarne lo Statuto con una promessa di fedeltà da emettere, con una
formula appropriata, possibilmente durante una liturgia, preferibilmente in
una casa religiosa delle suore, e da rinnovarsi ogni anno l’otto dicembre.
Art. 10
Chi è stato accolto come membro
dell’associazione può essere dimesso dal Presidente generale qualora non si
attenga all’osservanza degli obblighi e non abbia provveduto a dare
spiegazioni e a rinnovare il proprio impegno di fedeltà, dopo che sia stato
richiamato per due volte dal responsabile regionale per iscritto o davanti a
due testimoni.
Art. 11
Se qualcuno avrà motivi per
lasciare l’Associazione, tratterà la questione con il proprio responsabile,
locale o regionale.
IV- VITA DELL’ASSOCIAZIONE
Art. 12
L’associazione curerà in modo
particolare la formazione cristiana dei suoi membri, in modo che siano
sempre più idonei a realizzare i fini della stessa. Allo scopo si terranno
incontri di formazione secondo un preciso programma annuale, sotto la
responsabilità del Presidente Generale e del suo Consiglio.
Art. 13
Il programma annuale dovrà
prevedere:
l’approfondimento
teologico-spirituale della vocazione e missione dei laici; la preparazione
apostolica per i campi nei quali è progettata la collaborazione;
l’approfondimento della spiritualità della famiglia verniana.
Art. 14
I membri sono chiamati ad
operare particolarmente nell’ambito della presenza delle Suore di Ivrea e in
collaborazione con esse, negli ospedali, nelle scuole, nelle parrocchie, in
terra di missione ed in altre realtà presenti nel territorio in costante
comunione con la legittima autorità ecclesiastica e in armonia con altre
aggregazioni ecclesiali.
Art. 15
Ogni membro dell’associazione si
sente impegnato a coltivare la propria vita spirituale, attraverso la
fedeltà ai doveri del cristiano e del proprio stato;
a nutrire una particolare
devozione a Maria Immacolata, specialmente con la recita del santo Rosario,
possibilmente quotidiana;
a dedicarsi allo studio della
fede cattolica, particolarmente nell’approfondimento della sacra Scrittura,
del catechismo della Chiesa cattolica e nell’ascolto della parola del Santo
Padre.
Art. 16
Una particolare attenzione sarà
dedicata alla dottrina della Chiesa, circa le opere di carità: assistere,
catechizzare, insegnare, avere cura speciale dei più bisognosi (Cf Regole
1823) .
Art. 17
E’ necessario riservare un
tempo, almeno ogni tre mesi, per un incontro forte di raccoglimento e di
preghiera, di aggiornamento e di verifica.
Art. 18
Chi lo desidera potrà
partecipare a tempi di preghiera, di interiorizzazione della Parola di Dio e
a momenti di famiglia della comunità religiosa delle Suore.
V - AMMINISTRAZIONE
Art. 19
L’associazione non ha alcuna
finalità di lucro.
I fondi per il raggiungimento
delle sue finalità sono frutto di contributi dei membri o di altri.
Essi sono amministrati, ai
diversi livelli, sotto la vigilanza dei responsabili competenti, da un
economo.
VI. COLLEGAMENTO CON LE
SUORE DI CARITA’ DELL’IMMACOLATA CONCEZIONE D’IVREA
Art. 20
L’Associazione può realizzare il
suo scopo solo in comunione con le Suore di Carità dell’Immacolata
Concezione d’Ivrea, al cui carisma si ispira. Tale particolare comunione
comporta che l’associazione partecipi alla vita e alla spiritualità dello
stesso istituto, con la conoscenza della sua storia, della sua spiritualità
e del suo apostolato.
Art. 21
La Superiora Generale è garante
del carisma dell’Associazione, della formazione spirituale dei membri e
tutela l’identità della stessa associazione; in modo particolare promuove il
discernimento sui campi apostolici e sulle urgenze alle quali volgere
l’impegno; partecipi a tale compito sono, a livello regionale, le Superiore
provinciali.
Art. 22
La Superiora Generale può
partecipare sempre alle riunioni del Consiglio e all’ Assemblea Generale
dell’ Associazione.
Il Presidente Generale dovrà
sempre tenere informata la Superiora Generale dell’andamento
dell’Associazione e ogni anno, a tale scopo, invierà una relazione.
Art. 23
Per la sua crescita e il suo
sviluppo l’Associazione vede quanto mai utile la presenza delle suore.
Si dovrà però prestare
attenzione perché ciascuno viva la propria spiritualità secondo il proprio
stato di vita.
In particolare occorrerà evitare
tutte quelle forme di collaborazione che non rispettino la vocazione
familiare e secolare dei laici e la vocazione religiosa delle suore.
VII - ASSISTENZA DI UN
SACERDOTE
Art. 24
E’ opportuno che la vita
dell’Associazione sia accompagnata dalla presenza di un sacerdote per quanto
riguarda la formazione spirituale, dottrinale e apostolica.
VIII - DISPOSIZIONE FINALE
Art. 25
Il presente statuto, valido per
tutta l’Associazione, potrà essere ulteriormente precisato con un
regolamento adatto alle singole regioni.
Esso dovrà essere approvato dal
Presidente generale con il consenso del suo Consiglio e dalla Superiora
Generale delle Suore di Carità dell’Immacolata Concezione d’Ivrea.
Per quanto non espressamente
previsto dal presente statuto valgono le norme del CJC.

STATUTE
OF THE "ASSOCIATION OF THE VERNIAN LAITY
1.
THE NATURE OF THE ASSOCIATION
Art.1
In the Vernian Family, which
gathers in the name of Mother Antonia, all those who in any way draw
inspiration from her (Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception of
Ivrea, Missionaries of Charity, lay groups, or any of the individual
faithful), a private association of the faithful is formed with the name of
the Association Vernian Laity. These faithful wish to attain their Christian
vocation through the charism of the Institute of Sisters of Charity of the
Immaculate Conception of Ivrea, according to their lay status, and in
communion with the Sisters of the said Institute.
Art.2
The Marian spirituality
commits its members to cultivate a special devotion to the Immaculate Mary,
celebrating her feast with particular solemnity. They are also called to
live the proper Christian life, according to each person’s state in life, in
faithfulness to their own religious duties, in the participation in the Holy
Mass and in the practice of the Sacraments. This spirituality draws its
inspiration particularly from articles 2 and 3 of the Rule of Life of the
Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception of Ivrea.
“Art.2: In the Immaculate
Conception of Mary, we see the mystery of the absolute gratuity of God, who
loves and saves, and the total dedication of the creature who offers herself
without hesitation. Full of grace in free and gratuitous gift, Mary belongs
to God in an exclusive and absolute manner because, Mother of the Word made
flesh and united in His whole being in Christ Savior, she cooperated for the
salvation of mankind.”
“Art. 3: In her we find the
perfect image of our consecration and the sanctity to which we are called,
the inspiring force of the apostolic action. We draw upon the genuine
spirit of the Institute by contemplating on her mystery; we learn to be a
community which does not belong, all and one for God and for others. Like
Mary, and in Mary, we perform our saving charity in Christ with an open
disposition towards the needs of our brothers.”
Art. 3
The apostolic commitment of
charity shall be realized in the “maximum attention to the poor and the
needy” that are encountered along the way, and in lending, within their
possibilities, of the proper time and aid in the service of charity. The
apostolic commitment in the evangelization and in the catechesis asks the
members above all to start from Christ, as the Holy Father has stated in the
Apostolic letter Novo Millennio Ineunte,(NMI 31); to pay attention
to their own whole spiritual formation and be available to do works of
evangelization and catechesis. In such a way, the laity shall not only be
engaged in realizing the vocation to sanctity, received in Baptism, but
shall also act as support for other Christian brothers and sisters.
II – GOVERNMENT OF THE ASSOCIATION
Art. 4
The Vernian Laity Association’s,
is in Rome, via della Renella 85, near Curia Generalizia delle suore di

body is divided into three levels:
Local, Regional, and General
4.1
An officially-recognized
group at the local level shall elect its leader every three years.
4.2
At the regional level, a
leader and two councilors shall be elected every three years by the region’s
local leaders. The area of the regional level shall be determined by the
President of the Association with the consensus of his Council.
4.3
In case of absence, the local
and regional leaders shall appoint a person to administer in their stead.
4.4
At the general level, there
is the general Assembly which is representative of the entire Association,
consisting of the local and regional leaders, of the President and his
Council. This Assembly shall meet every four years and has the primary
function to:
- Elect the general President and
four Councilors, the first of who is
the Vice-President.

Review the progress of the
Association
- Elaborate on the Association’s
program for the following four years
Art. 5
A group shall be considered
effectively formed when it is recognized as such by the President of the
Association with the consensus of his Council. In the procedure of
recognition, there are the following criteria to be followed:
- The members
must be no less than ten.
- When
possible, they must not be geographically dispersed. They must be
Grouped in
such a way that, when possible, they will fulfill the statute’s obligations
together.

They must have as a point of
reference a religious community of the Sisters of
Charity of the Immaculate
Conception of Ivrea.
Art. 6
The local head shall function
as an internal liaison (between the group and the regional and general
leaders), and external liaison. He shall be responsible for the group
adhering to the Statute of the Association. He shall also be the promoter
of the life of the group, both for the spirituality and apostolate, and for
the development of the Association itself.
Art. 7
The duties of the regional
leader are comparable to those of the local leader, but adapted to his
level.
In carrying out these duties,
the leader shall need the cooperation of his Council. In particular, he
shall decide, with the help of his Council, the acceptance of requests for
admission of members in a written statement and shall handle pertinent
issues which are within his area.
Art. 8
Duties of the President and
his Council
8.1
According to the Statute, the
general President shall be responsible for the path and the development of
the entire Association. To this end, he shall ensure that the members will
observe the Statute of the said Association. He shall be aided in the
exercise of his duties by his Council.
8.2
In particular, the
President’s duty shall be to stay in contact with the Superior General of
the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception of Ivrea, particularly
for the faithfulness to the charism, the spirituality, the apostolate, and
the formation.
8.3
The general President and his
Council shall be responsible for verifying the admissions of new members,
dismissing members from the same Association, and treating the most
important issues of such.
III - ADMISSION, DISMISSAL,
RESIGNATION
Art. 9
To be admitted, candidates
(men and women; married or single) are required to be of legal age,
practicing Catholic. After adequate formation, they must be willing to
commit themselves to realizing the goals of the Association and to observing
the Statute, with a promise of faithfulness to be professed, with the
appropriate words, possibly during a liturgy, preferably in the Sisters’
religious house, and to be renewed yearly on the eighth of December.
Art. 10
Those who have joined as
members of the Association may be dismissed by the general President for
lack of adherence to their own duties and obligations without providing an
explanation and for not renewing their own commitment to faithfulness, after
having been notified twice by the regional authority in a written statement
or in front of two witnesses.
Art. 11
If one has reason to leave
the Association, he shall have to take up the issue with the proper
authority, either locally or regionally.
IV –
THE LIFE OF THE ASSOCIATION
Art. 12
The Association shall
cultivate, in a special manner, the Christian formation of its members, in a
way that they will always be suitable to realize its goals. For this
purpose, there shall be meetings of formation according to a precise, yearly
program, under the responsibility of the general President and his council.
Art. 13
The annual program shall
include a spiritual-theological deepened awareness of the vocation and
mission of the laity; the apostolic preparation for areas where there is
projected collaboration; and a spiritual deepening of the Vernian Family.
Art. 14
The members are called to
operate particularly in the area of the presence of the Sisters of Ivrea and
in collaboration with them, in hospitals, in schools, in the parish, in
missionary lands, and in other areas in constant contact with the legitimate
ecclesiastical authority and in harmony with other ecclesiastical groups.
Art. 15
Every member of the
Association shall be committed to develop his own spiritual life, through
faithfulness to one’s Christian duties and in one’s proper state; to nurture
a particular devotion to Mary Immaculate, especially through the recitation
of the Holy Rosary, preferably daily; to dedicate oneself to the study of
the Catholic faith, particularly in deepening knowledge of the Sacred
Scriptures, of the catechism of the Catholic church and listening to the
words of the Holy Father.
Art. 16
A particular emphasis shall
be dedicated to the doctrine of the Church regarding the works of charity:
aiding, evangelizing, teaching, and having special care of the neediest (Cf
Rule 1823).
Art. 17
It shall be necessary for the
group to set aside some time, at least every three months, for a meeting of
recollection and prayer, for the group’s status report, and for
verification.
Art. 18
For those desiring to do so,
members may participate in prayer time, in the meditation on the Word of God
and in family gatherings of the religious community of the Sisters.
V – ADMINISTRATION
Art. 19
The Association is a
non-profit organization.
The funds to attain the
Association’s goals derive from the contribution of its members or others.
These funds are administered by a treasurer, at various levels, under the
watchful eye of a competent and responsible member.
VI.
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE SISTERS OF CHARITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF IVREA
Art. 20
The Association shall realize
its goal only in communion with the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate
Conception of Ivrea, in whom the charism is derived. This particular
communion implies that the Association shall participate in the life and the
spirituality of the same Institute, with the knowledge of its history,
spirituality, and apostolate.
Art. 21
The Superior General shall be
the guarantor of the Association’s charism, the spiritual formation of its
members and the identity of the same association; especially through the
promotion of areas of the apostolate and the urgency in which the commitment
must be carried out; those who participate in these duties, at the regional
level, are the provincial superiors.
Art. 22
The Superior General may
participate at any time in the Council meetings and in the General Assembly
of the Association. The general President shall always keep the Superior
General informed of the status of the Association and shall send a yearly
progress report.
Art. 23
For its growth and
development, the Association sees the necessity of the presence of the
Sisters.
However, the Sisters shall
not interfere so that each member may live his own spirituality according to
his own state of life.
In particular, it is
necessary to avoid all forms of collaboration which do not respect the
familial and secular vocation of the laity and the religious vocation of the
Sisters.
VII. – ASSISTANCE OF A PRIEST
Art. 24
It is advised that the life
of the Association be accompanied by a priest who shall assist in the
group’s spiritual, doctrinal, and apostolic formation.
VIII – FINAL DISPOSITION
Art. 25
The present Statute, valid
for the entire Association, may be tailored to adapt to a single region.
Any change must be approved by the general President with the consensus of
his Council and by the Superior General of the Sisters of Charity of the
Immaculate Conception of Ivrea. For what is not expressedly foreseen by the
present Statute, the norms of the Codex Juris Civilis (CJC) will apply.
